1st Lieutenant Morely R. Hill was born in Big Beaver, Oakland County, Michigan on November 10th, 1916. Morely volunteered for Army service on October 15th 1940, two months before the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, in the Territory of Hawaii. Morely Hill was honorably discharged January 8, 1946.

Below - 2nd Lieutenant Morely R. Hill arrives at the 505 Parachute Infantry Regiment in early January 1945. On January 16,1945, 2nd. Lt. Morely Hill is transferred from Service Company, 505 Parachute Infantry Regiment to Headquarters Company, 505 Parachute Infantry Regiment. From Headquarters Company, 2nd Lieutenant Morely R. Hill is then transferred to I Company.
